It was never going to hurt their reputation was it? In the eyes of the Washday fans they'd be heroines telling us to f*ck off and we all know The Scum, The Mirror and The News Of The Screws would take the side of Harold Shipman against anything Barnsley related. The more I hear about this the more I think it was a setup from start to finish - their manager's told 'em to give us some grief and, even if it only raised their profile from a local perspective, it'd be free publicity. Reckon they couldn't have wished for a better reaction from the national media...
