"Conor Hourihane is a gem. The excellence of Conor Hourihane a traditional deep-lying playmaker who showed superb composure and poise on the ball. His distribution was second to none and the cross for Sam Winnall's equaliser was inch perfect." Pay him whatever he wants - must retain.
Don't think it'll be down to money. He will want a shot at the prem and if he goes to the right club I think he will take it well so who can blame him. Just enjoy him while he's here they don't come around too often
Get him signed on a long contract so that when the PL clubs come after him they'll have to pay £10M+.
Re: Get him signed He needs an incentive though. Maybe offer him silly money in January for 6 months (dropping thereafter) with a £10 million buy out clause.
Not if he wants to play prem football next season. To be honest if a Prem club wanted him its hard to stand in his way. He isnt going to sign a long contract with us - why would he. would be disappointed if we sold him to a rival championship club in January though
He comes across as ambitious not a money grabber. With all the money we've recently made we could easily offer him 20k a week three year contract because three million wouldn't put much of a dent into what we've made and we wouldn't get a player anywhere near as good for similar. But he wants to play at the highest level so he's more chance of playing for his country. Next month lowly premiership clubs will be panicing about relegation and playing over the odds for guys outside the top flight that might keep them in the promised land. Selling an asset in every transfer window so constantly having to rebuild and be patient whilst a new guy gets upto the standard expected might annoy him too. We'd made money from three defenders in no time at all. If next month we sell someone else for good money it might to him show a lack of ambition to make a play off run.
I doubt they'd all sit back and think "He deserves it, good for him" They'll be wanting a pay rise too.
Exactly and Hammill bench warming or suspended is probably earning three or four times more than him.
Connors a fantastic player. But the best in the division he is not and im not convinced yet hes good enough for the premiership. My opinion of course.
