Figures released yesterday showed Barnsley had slashed their annual losses for the second consecutive season.

After posting losses of £1.24m in May 2002 and £3.65m in May 2004, this year's deficit was down to only £186,000.

The wage budget, however, will continue to be one of the smallest in the Championship.

No

If you'd said that our wage budget was one of the lowest in the championship it would have, but you didn't.

I thought clubs were only allowed to spend a certain % of there revenue on wages, so we will have one of the smallest wage bills as we have one of the smallest revenues.

Or am i wrong?

Thanks for that.

I was planning to wear a Robbie Hassell hatmask, with the eyes taped up, and run round the car park in a costume painted like a car.

You need to set up an advice website.
It'll make a right fortune.
I'd call it www.jaysadviceonthesofaforpeoplewhoaretravelling.co.uk

I think wages will be the main stumbleing block of us stopping in the Championship

I know there is all this palarva of Ritchie and Shep not talking as much as they ort to
But the main obstacle to Championship survival is the low wages paid at the WELL
We cannot attract Championship quality players if we are only offering 1st division wages
You have to pay the going rate
And if Shep will not do this for say 3 expereinced players then look out Doncaster and Oldham cos here we come - for another 5 to 10 years

Why is it?

Jay: TFP, don't get knocked down in the car park
Nudger: We need to pay championship wages to TARN players or we'll go down

TFP: Who played the role of Rosencrantz in the 1993 version of Hamlet at the Globe?
Nudger: We need to get a centre half in Andy, or else TARN will be playing Accrington next

Reyt fit bird: Nudger - come on ... **** me right in the quim - do it hard big boy
Nudger: But if we don't speculate - TARN won't accumulate

Makes perfect sense to me.

RE: No

I thought that a £1500 top wage rendered that supposition unnecessary. I would not be surprised if our wage bill was below the average for league 1.

It said wage budget not average wages of the players.

We have a very small squad so it's obvious that our wage bill will be low.

Top earner 1800 + 500 appearance.
Chairman wants 1500
Average wage approx 1000.
Andy Ritchie ONLY manager without a PA, Holden has 4 jobs.
It must be EASYBARN. Stelois's money would help though.
