Basically Shep says the first thing he knew about the Leeds incident when he read the email on Tuesday. Its on Newsnow.co.uk website as well. He says its Leeds problem and not Barnsleys!

If that's true, we should be getting in touch with our lawyers

In fact, we should have already got in touch with our lawyers and be contacting Malwhinney and anybody else that used our name as backing the appeal.

Does that include me & thee?

    :D

Honestly though this seems a little bizarre and I sincerely hope we are not involved.

If we are not then I offer my sincere apologies to BFC and Gordon Shepherd.

Sounds to me as though at some point Bates n Shep have had an informal chat at say some league meeting or whatever - with Bates maybe asking Shep if he thought the 15 point deduction was fair. Shep may have innocently said, it was a bit harsh and then Bates has filled a form in trying to make out Barnsley are supporting their appeal.

I wouldn't put anything past that evil crook. (wnkr)

Agreed mate - apologies to Shepherd and co

However I'm sure he would agree we had every right to panic judging on where the story was coming wrong. If you can't believe a statement from the chairman of the Football league who can you believe?

Very bizarre afternoon, thank God it appears it was some kind of hoax.
