interesting to hear that. When he was speaking to the media team when he signed that was something that got mentioned. You never know if it's just words but PH's just a name to the link.

Fryers made it very clear in his interview that he has come here for first team football.

To be honest, with the age he's at, he really needed to go out to a team where he'd have the chance to play regularly. There's certainly no guarantee that he'd do it at Palace, and another loan probably wouldn't be beneficial at this stage in his career.

This is also the reason why I think Matty James will be on the move by the end of the window. Not to us like, but I reckon he'll leave Leicester.

I think he will be determined to play and prove a few doubters wrong. Him and lloyd Isgrove haven't played enough football .

Speaks volumes of his commitment . Unlike some he's not making money his god.
He's joined us because he wants to play. Fair play to the lad.
Looking forward to watching him and the rest of our new boys.

Could be a big signing for us.

I honestly think he will RED. He's turned down the chance to play elsewhere and probably realises this is
his big chance to re-ignite his career. I have high hopes that McCarthy, Pinnock, Lindsay and Mallan will be OK as well.
They all look to be good players. Sessi's return is like signing a new player and I think Izzy will try his best to
nail down a place in the team. Adding these lads to what we've already got will to my mind see us put together
a side capable of surviving in the Championship at the very least.

To be fair he's probably made enough already to retire, such is the madness of modern football. But still, a player who wants to play is a rarity, and to be applauded these days. Looking forward to seeing him.

If Yiadom goes I hope Fryers can play a big role for us. If he stays I'm not sure he will be in the side straightaway which is a conundrum given he clearly wants to play. A nice dilemma though.

Agreed if Yiadom stays I reckon we may start with McCarthy at RB and Yiadom at LB

I'm wondering if Yiadom stays if he will be playing in front of the back 4? Fryers/Hammill down left should be a good combo, likewise McCarthy/Isgrove who will have played together many times over the years will be a good combo down the right.

I have a sneaky feeling irrespective of what was said on Radio Sheffield Hecky is quietly planning for life "after" Yids.
It's hard us to contemplate because he is one of our best players but if somebody meets our valuation I think he'll be off.
I truly believe that Fryers has possibly been brought in to cover for that eventuality.!
Hope I'm wrong but we'll have to wait and see.

Yep, think yids will be off unfortunately. Unless we can tie him to a new deal. Still need more cover though in addition to Fryers if it does happen though, so could see us getting another full back on loan possibly.

IF we persuade Yids to sign a new deal I imagine we'll have promised him the RB slot every week. Don't know why everyone is so keen to move him out of his best position.
