If Smith and/or Bree get injured or Johnson realises they are nowhere ready - who replaces them?

Same with up front. Winnall is already looking very injury prone. Other than Wilkinson who else comes in?

The strikers he's going to recruit..? You know we'll sign some.

Full backs? He doesn't seem to want any. So maybe Holgate and Bree at RB and Smith and Evans LB? Personally, I'd have recruited a couple, as I see it as a very important position in football, they see a lot of the ball full backs and if we're sticking to this width-less midfield approach, Smith and Bree (or the other two kids) are going to have to have stamina galore, concentration galore etc etc. Maybe they'll have stellar seasons and LJ will have been right to go down that route?

    Suck it and see.

Dunno. Not recruiting in these positions seems a little weird.

As Smith wasn't up to it last season and I cannot recall the last time Bree played a competitive game it seems we have big problems.

It'll be reight though - we did a bit of good pr last week so everything's rosey.

Smith was decent last season especially for a 17 year old given his first run in the team, and Bree too looked competent to me. I'm just not sure - considering the injuries they had - that they'll benefit from an increased workload. But again, there's Evans and Holgate and LJ hasn't even hinted at recruiting in that area.

Bad or good PR doesn't affect performances on a matchday.

Off to kip nar. Last day at work tomorrow, ******* eighth day ont spin. Body's in bits.

I think Smiths a great young player myself. Doesn't mean you shouldn't have options.

He looks like he will be a good player in a couple of years time. He's far from that at the moment.

Don't forget about Temps. Can play RB or LB and he is looking very promising. This season's version of Holgate I reckon. Anyway what about George Williams?

If Smith got injured, Nyatanga would go out there I guess - with Roberts partnering Mawson at CB.

I guess Williams is the like-for-like replacement for James Bree atm.

I too find it strange that we haven't recruited in this area, even though I do think there's potential in both these young lads.

Tyke is obviously LJ in disguise otherwise how could he possibly know what the future holds for Williams. Williams may not be LJ's type of player but he is the current and obvious cover for Bree otherwise why hasn't he gone the way of so many others? He looked the only true 'pro' at Frickley the other night amongst the utter chaos which was called our defence.

No way that happens, LJ brought in cover last season with the lad on loan, because he doesnt like centre backs playing at fullback !!

Yeah and look.how well that turned out! LJ clearly has a lot of confidence in Smith and Bree. Defence was good in the 1st half on Weds they had problems in the 2nd half cos they changed to playing a diamond. Leaving LB and RB 2 on 1 all the time if there is no support from the midfield.

Not seen anything from him that makes him ready for the 1st team, I wouldn't wait for the 1st offer. Let him go with Phenix

So you've seen him what four times and only one of them was a full game - wow wish I had your level of scouting expertise. Surely for any player to be judged fairly they need a run of games not 30 minutes here and there?
