They’ve given Man Utd the full side stand… 7k.

    Don’t understand that at all…..

It’s the percentage of the ground capacity that counts in the cup - 25% I think? There must be plenty scattered around the ground though because Wigan don’t have that many fans

Reminds me of when Wigan season ticket holders sold their home end tickets to United fans when they played them last match of a Premier League season as United had won the league.

What’s the betting on an 87th minute equaliser? I already predicted the short free kick on the left with the curler into the top corner, but it got blocked

Fernandes better not go out when it's icy, if that was enough to knock him off his feet. Sad they feel the need to cheat against Wigan.
Guess that's another one of those "earnt the foul"

For a pretty much full strength Utd team they have made hard work of this with one of those soft pens that only players that cheat get given.

How many bad decisions does this ref make! He’s hopeless and it’s amazing he’s still getting games.

Give over, even we'd have had a chance of getting that given, crap attempt at a challenge with a big flailing trailing leg. Penalty every day.

There’ll be more United fans within the Wigan borough, or with a Wigan postcode, than there are Wigan Athletic fans

It's a pen in the sense that he was touched by the opposing player, who didn't touch the ball, but that touch was not sufficient to bring him down. He took another step before throwing himself to the floor and earnt the penalty, he could have stayed on his feet, but felt the touch, so dived and its cheating.

He has a history of cheating/conning referees, and there’s another one. A better referee wouldn’t have fallen for it.

Ally McCoist, laughing, saying nowhere near enough contact to go down. HMMMMM........imagine the scenario, Euros, semi final,
England vs. Scotland, down goes a jock forward in the box to a similar challenge. I wonder................
The art of tackling has gone, that's the issue, why? New post needed to discuss that, opinions would be interesting.

It's hard to prove conclusively either way whether it was enough to make him fall, but it's immaterial really, it was a clear foul. Personally I think it's easily enough to impede a player and at least make them lose balance to an extent, which is enough for a foul, especially in a dangerous area of the pitch.

15%, but I think Wigan always gave that stand to well supported clubs when in the Prem. They don’t have enough home fans to turn down sales.

All our fault, in fact add the pen to that list as well

The touch doesn't have to be sufficient to bring a player down, just needs to be enough to impede him from getting to the ball. Unfortunately refs will never give a foul when a player stays on their feet, so the players have to make the call for them.

My mates did the same when we were in the Prem, they paid off 75% of their ST.
