its such a tight division where anyone can and generally does beat anyone

Look at Wednesday, Brian Laws i bet has spent a fraction of what Davey has, yet they finish the season 12th (joint 10th you could argue) However 3 less wins and they would have been in relegation mix up until final whistle

We finish 5th bottom, but like many have said before 2 penalty misses in games we drew and two leads blown in last 2mins equates to another 8 points putting us on 60 which would have had us sat very snuggly in midtable.

Its a very fineline between whats deemed success and failure, looking back through 90's we only ever finished below 13th ONCE, okay we had a few duff seasons after Play-off final against Ipswich in 2000 culminating in eventual relegation.

I just don't know what to think, its always gonna be known as the 'what if Hume hadn't been assaulted' season, £1.2m on a guy proven at this level to score goals, could have been worth at least 9 more points to us i'd say putting us joint 10th

What if what if, i know, and still dosen't hide the baffling selections, subsitutions and tactics we have been frustrated with

But just imagine even with Davey frustrating us, a fully fit expensive goal scorer could have had us top half and we would be toasting our highest finish for 9 years!!!

I'm sat totally undercided now whether we give him another season or pull trigger, i have to confess I REALLY DON'T KNOW

    correct

at this moment in time I completely agree. It's seeing the substitutions that worry, not least the 2 against Wolves ???????.

However after the dust has settled, and we are safe, I am thinking what are the alternatives, and if we had have finished midtable would we still be talking about his tactics? Or would everything be hunky?

    Not exactly true...

...I keep hearing about missed penalties and last-minute goals but you are not factoring in the same for the clubs above and around us. I try to ignore Washdays results but I'm betting they've had bad luck somewhere along the way that "could have" scuppered their chance of the play-offs. The same goes for everyone else in the league.
