IPSWICH Town say that their Championship match against Barnsley at Portman Road tomorrow is currently ‘in doubt’ as the town prepares for heavy snowfall.

A statement on the club’s official website reads: “Town’s match against Barnsley on Saturday is in doubt with heavy snow falling overnight and more forecast over the next 24 hours.
“The pitch has been covered for the last week and is playable but there are safety concerns with snow and ice around the stadium and police issuing general warnings against driving unless absolutely necessary.
“Club office staff along with groundstaff cleared the snow off the pitch this morning but reliable weather satellite systems are predicting heavy snowfall to hit Ipswich this evening.
“There will be a further update on the club website later this afternoon but supporters are advised to follow the latest news on @Official_ITFC and www.itfc.co.uk tomorrow in the lead up to kick-off.”
