Can anybody recall Johnson making one? One that has won us a result or gained us a point? I remember Ibehre last season coming on and getting a goal. Waring possibly did at some point too. One thing that has become apparent this season is LJ's inability to use his substitutions effectively. In the last 2 games especially he's waited far too long to make changes. It comes across to me like he has little faith in the players on the bench. He never gives his substitutes time to change a result. When they come on they look very short of confidence too. Its another aspect of his management that he quickly needs to improve on.
Game changing substitutions happen very rarely The real big one was Machin against leeds which to be fair was obvious given the circumstances
I think he lacks the speed of mind to do it. Their right back was booked. **** scared of harris... So we takes him off. Hourhiane had very little go right for him and would have been the better sub... two strikers in the box... means centre half cant come and help harris.
Winnall coming on for Williams and going 2 up top against Swindon changed the game. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
That was forced rather than tactical. It was LJ making the wrong decision in the first place that worked for us.
Walsall at home last season. We were actually already winning 1-0, but it was dull as hell and Walsall looked just as likely to get an equaliser as us get a 2nd. He brought off Lalkovic and Pearson, brought on Bailey and Winnall, we went 4-4-2 and murdered them for the last half hour, winning 3-0. Rochdale at home. Oates for Maris. Again we went to 4-4-2 and scored five goals in the final 25 minutes. I think I've spotted a theme.
Flicker fetched Rose on against Burnley int cup and he grabbed the winner. Davey bringing Coulson on against Blackpool in semi final cup run.
