    I wouldn't watch the 5th series without watching the others. You might be able to grasp what's going on eventually but you'll be missing out on 4 great series.

    After watching 4 episodes of season 5 I think they have completely spoit it. deviated massively from the books in this season and ommitting huge sories from the book. producers have discussed with Martin about what he has planned for the characters but looks like they are going to get them there in their own way.

    really enjoyed the series but has its gone on its become a very watered down version of the books which is a shame
