    Conversely, the last time we won 5 on the spin, we lost against QPR next game and got promoted to the PL. So there are arguments both ways. :)

    Won 7 league games on the spin in the 2015/6 season just after Christmas. L1 though.

    Need the history books out to find out if and when we've done it in the 2nd Tier

    Would happily take a point if you offered it now. Not too concerned with breaking into the top 6 at this stage, if we can be within a few points by the international break we can give it a good go. No use being in the top 6 too early, as Forest found out last season...

    Agreed. The quality in Bassett's playoff team was fantastic. Unbelievable that they didn't win 5 on the spin.

    Our team of 1921 22 won its first 5 matches then lost the sixth at wolves before winning the next 3. 8 wins and 1 loss out of nine. Missed out on promotion to the first division by 1 goal at the end of the season. Missed I think it was 3 penalties as well.

    So we've been in top flight once, spent 70 odd years in the second tier but only had 8 real attempts at getting promoted succeeding once. It's pretty sheet that. I haven't included this season as we haven't hit the top six yet.
