It's happened with Accrington Stanley tomorrow..... https://www.accringtonstanley.co.uk/news/2020/october/eight-players-test-positive-for-covid-19/ It's not the first game to fall to it this season. How is it fair on Bristol Rovers that it doesn't get played? Games don't get cancelled when teams have a long injury list, so why is covid treated differently? Stanley should be made to field youth players to fufill the fixture.
It's due to the covid restrictions though isn't it? All the Stanley players and staff will have been in contact all week and need to self isolate. You wouldn't want your squad of 18 players plus staff travelling to a ground to play a game against a team that has been decimated by covid. It's the only way to try and beat this virus isn't it?
Of course covid should be treated differently to a long injury list - you cant catch an injury. and you dont need to isolate the other players who have been in contact with the injured players This is a total no brainer for me and I cant see Bristol being unhappy at not going to Accrington in a tier 3 area when Covid is rife within the club as well. Cant see them playing Swindon on Tuesday either
