The 25-year-old Australian is reported to be frustrated by the length of the contract extension and could join Hull.

Garcia told the Hull Daily Mail: "From what I've heard the Tigers are trying to be ambitious. They have a new chairman who has come in to succeed.

"They are clearly looking forward and are obviously planning for promotion. I would like to be a part of that."

Garcia, who has been with the U's for three seasons and scored six goals last term, added: "It's just nice knowing there is interest."

His potential exit, on the back of Chris Iwelumo's departure and Jamie Cureton's transfer request, leaves Colchester's attacking options looking threadbare.

Colchester are going to struggle big-time next season if they lose another important player.
