    Good player and has got a lot of experience in this league but not sure he is the player we need. Don't think he is a defensive option like Williams is. Not sure we really need Gardner but if Hecky thinks we do then I trust his judgement.

    His goal scoring record suggests he isn't overly attacking. You wouldn't have said Marty James was a very defensive player, but he did a job that was needed in a more defensive role

    Exactly this. bit dissapointed it's a loan, but suppose its risk adverse. He only signed a new 4 year deal at Christmas and now frozen out!

    Hopefully Gardner would thrive under a coach willing and able to work with players and improve them. All Bruce (and Redknapp etc) can do is play them a few times, if they don't work straight away then sign 2 or 3 more who might.

    According to Nixon he's on 13k a week and we dont want to pay.

    That's spending 500k+ over the year, and which is a few players from the spreadsheet down the drain.
