When he first signed I thought he was one of the worst players we’d ever signed, he couldn’t do anything right at all. Now I think he’s different class, put a reyt performance in yesterday, clear man of the match for me.

He was rubbish when he first signed. I can only assume it was a lack of fitness.

He has stepped it up, though. Puts himself about, gets forward, and has weighed in with a couple of cracking goals.

I dun't think it worked with him and Williams, though. Maybe Williams' absence is another reason for Gardner's improvement.

He's been excellent for a while although I thought Hammill was MoM yesterday. I'd definitely look to sign him next season, provided we are still in the championship.

Fully agree with this. I think fitness and lack of Williams next to him has allowed him to improve. Been one of our better players in the last couple of months.

I’d be looking to sign him up next season, wages depending of course.

Rubbish at first. Then Williams got suspended and he had three great games. Williams came back in and he was poor. Williams got injured and he's been great since.

    See the issue

No he’s got a deal that runs until 2020 according to the Chronicle.

I wish we still had Williams. Even if just on the bench for the last 20/30.

His form dipped hugely. But he’s very young and inexperienced and was being asked to do the role of a seasoned pro.

Likewise Harvey Barnes - what a waste Leicester have made of the lads year. A few meaningless cup matches and reserve football for the most part.

Bonkers. Unless he wanted to go back - a scrap isn’t for everyone. I don’t understand why they didn’t loan him out to someone end of January.

This is what I just don't understand. Players are written off after a few games. Cameron McGeehan is a case in point. There's people calling him rubbish. He's come back from a very nasty leg break, moved up two divisions and been trashed after NINE appearances. Nine!
I'm not saying he's going to be a championship player but I wish players could be given half a chance to settle down.

Has he been trashed? Think most seem accepting that he just wasn’t fit enough to get the minutes needed to build up full match fitness. Same at Scunny going for playoffs. That was a wasted loan.

He’ll have a completely different season next year I reckon.

Hope you're right. I have seen posts rubbishing him. Can't remember from who. Hopefully he'll get a chance next season.

Are you meaning Barnes? Once he played in the cup for Leicester he had represented 2 teams this season. So I believe you can't play for 3. So we were the only club he could have gone to.

Not saying there haven’t been posts. Just that most people I’ve spoken to seem to want to see what he can do with full preseason and fully fit. You’ll always get some people writing players off quickly. Sometimes they’re proved “right” often they’re made to look daft. But they still do it. Plenty writing off this whole squad and saying they would be league 1 fodder. Only a few, but they are usually consistent!
