Training with owls according to radio sheff... Is he can recapture form of 2-3 seasons ago he could be a great deal. Wouldn't mind seeing him in a reds shirt
Think COGba scored more goals last season than Taylor-Fletcher has in the last 3 years. And probably made more goals. Yep. Nice to see Wednesday are doing what their fans said they would - "we can get better than COG...." And turned down by Kevin Davies. Bet that stings. For a League One club, too. Aye, they're out-muscling us again over at S6, again, as their fans told me they would in terms of transfers. Let's not forget, Jennings was a target for them. They had to go for Maghoma instead. Be interesting to see which one turns out the best recruit.
Marquee signing needed up front based on interviews Ive listened to from Mansford and Flitcroft, Im hoping all the ground work they've put in plus the money thats been kept back means that we have someone in the pipeline that might push the season ticket sales up and create a buzz.
Re: Marquee signing needed up front Why? We've COGba and Daggers. They are deserved first choice partnership. 22 goals at this level last season. Then we've Jason Jason. If we do sign another frontman (not convinced we will because Jenno can play there) he'll have to be happy with being understudy. In my opinion. But I do get your point about a big name to get more bums on seats. Not that it worked with Mido. He just had a big bum. *and yes, I'm back to using nicknames for the players... don't player hate, hate the game
Shame, really would like to see him here. Versatile player who I think would be a good signing even though he's past his best.
If we wanted him, we could have had him. I mean, he's clearly struggling if he's training with them. Unless he likes piggy int middle. I prefer em in blankets. And on that bombshell, it's my bed time. One more shift and two days off. Thank the good Lord.
O Grady isnt going to play 46 games if he gets injured, we are fu.,ck.d as we have no cover. I cannot see Dagnall and Scotland working as a partnership, maybe Jennings can fill in up front but hardly ideal. Dagnall had a purple patch but towards the end of last season he was decidedly average. Scotland isnt going to play 90 minutes Saturday / Tuesday / Saturday. So in summary, we are short of bodies up front. Mansford stated that we were playing a waiting game as his knowledge and experience is that it all happens in the last few days/week prior to season starting. And that we had kept some money ready to be competitive. That has me hoping we are going to get some quality up front, maybe not just as cover.
I'd like Lita, just to piss them off even more. Although something they seem to miss, in the last 4 years Lita has made 121 apps and scored only 31 goals. Reyt goalscorer.
Re: Marquee signing needed up front Dagnall has had one good goal scoring patch in his two seasons with us. Scotland is a bit part player who's not going to be playing too often and will be a Super Sub. COG scores a few but hasn't ever been a big scorer in his career. I've every faith our board and management can bring us in a guy capable of scoring 15-20 goals for us next season.
