Only just heard that we'd signed him. Top, top signing that is! Always like him since his Wigan days.
We have enough right wingers Devaney and JCR should be more than enough, why do we need a third right winger? Sorry, a fourth right winger, Davey played Leon on the right wing several times last season. I would have thought that having a left back at the club would be more important
yeah for about another week isn't it? Yes but only for another week or so isn't it? Signing an extra player is always a good thing but I find it very odd that Davey is quick to almost panic sign a winger as soon as we get a small niggly injury yet seems completly fine to allow a full back to cover the most important position on the pitch when he has had months to ensure we have a replacement. Likewise at left back, how long have we not had one for now and yet not even a loan signing
You can't complain at someone for bringing in quality. And I'm sure Teale can play all across the middle.
Davey said today... If you read Davey's comments from today, JCR has been diagnosed with a fracture and will be out for a further 3 weeks or so.
RE: yeah for about another week isn't it? JCR has had an xray yesterday and they found a fracture in his elbow. He is in cast for 3 weeks. I am sure that is what SD said.
I thought he was x-rayed last week? Did they use the same machine that said Muller was Ok to continue?
Campbell-Ryce is a loss However, we've got Devaney as cover. That's the whole point of having two people for one position. If one is injured or loses form then the other can play. Meanwhile we've no cover for left midfield and El Haimour is out injured, we've no cover in central midfield and we've no left back at all. Of course, there's nothing wrong with bringing in quality, but there are positions in the team where we're desperate for players; right midfield wasn't one of them. I'm at a total loss as to what our manager is doing at the moment. I just can't weigh it up at all.
RE: I thought he was x-rayed last week? Not sure, I presumed that bit because the interview was done yesterday and nothing had been reported before. Maybe he was re-xray'd. Surely it doesn't take nearly a week to look at an xray. Maybe we are going NHS?
Moan, moan, moan. What is it with Yorkshire folk? JCR is out for around a month, Togwel has been sold. We get a good quality short term replacement. Can just imagine it if Teale had not been signed. ERR why has the idiot Davey not brought in any cover is the man stupid. Agree Poet, quality short term signing.
RE: Campbell-Ryce is a loss At least Devaney can play on both flanks.
It is possible that Davey was unable to bring in an adequate left winger at short notice.
If this were so, at least Devaney on the left, with a loan right winger, should be adequate as a stop gap.
I think lack of cover in certain positions is certainly a criticism that could be levelled at Davey, but by any standards the bloke's been unlucky. One league game into the season and you have 3 of what were presumably his first-choice midfield four either injured or ineligible.
He might want to sign a left back before the window closes, mind.
