I'm asking this here because I'm sure there'll be at least one person who can answer.

My sister's gas fire has started burning with a green flame for a short while before going orange. Any ideas what might be causing it &, more importantly, is it likely to be dangerous?

Probably some kind of residue on it. Not sure as to safety etc

Orange usually means a shortage of Oxygen

    That deffo needs checking out.

Does she have a Carbon Monoxide detector?

    No idea

I'll ask her & mention what you've said. Knowing her though, when she says orange, it's probably just the normal yellow colour.

    Just checked

She does have a detector & I was also right about her, when she said orange, she didn't mean "orange orange, just the normal colour that it always burms at!"

    Kid sisters! (doh)
