Got the survey back today and there is no mains gas to the house, does anyone know how much will cost me to get gas!

Its expensive but nowadays you have a choice.... Transco had the monopoly and they are generally expensive.</p> All the local electric companies now have the same rights and are generally cheaper to get it all installed. These are called independant gas transporters (IPGT's)</p> However that causes issues when buying gas from suppliers as most will charge you a surcharge on your bill.</p> If you have a gas main outside your property then it could be just in the low 100's if not then you will need to get a petition up on your street etc to prove that there is a need for them to do it although it won't be cheap.</p> If you need more info then let me know and I'll dig some up at work mate</p>

Go striaght to transco - DO NOT go via a gas supplier asthey will want to charge you approx double.. Cost me £350.00 14 months ago.... British Gas wanted over £800.00 ..

always used to be free if you were within a few metres of the mains also worth trying to haggle ie telling them you will install gas c/h, cooker, fires etc, having said that nowadays with the wide range of suppiers its probably changed and has become more expensive, ah, the joys of competition
Not entirely correct Norfolk If you go to a supplier to start with then they will book Transco or an IPGT for you and yes there will be a surcharge.
