    its not good at all

sad day when you see somewhere go up in smoke where you had some great times.

    Imagine oakwell going up!

Not a place a have frequented for quite a while but still sad to see it go.

Too right, it's terrible. Best club in the UK, just glad I made it back for what turned out to be the final night there. Now I know how the Hacienda regulars must have felt when they converted it into a block of flats.

That's like saying that if Barnsley went bust we should go and watch Donny instead.

    Really?

Can you get attached to a night club in the same way you can get attached to a football team?

    That's correct

Once you've started going to a nightclub on a regular basis, you can't suddenly start going to a different one instead, perhaps on occasion - for example if the DJ from your nightclub is playing at a different nightclub, or just whilst on holiday because you like nightclubs so are just taking in another - of course when you do this you won't be anywhere near as passionate in your dancing and you will more than likely just sit quietly and watch what is going on.

its more about the memories in the place

made some good friends in thereover the years that i still knock about with now and have some quality funny stories about stuff thats gone on while weve been in there.

So yes - its simlar to the memories you get watchng the reds in a way. Surely you must have some special places other than your sofa and oakwell?

    RE: Really?

I think so, if you get bitten at the right time. Has a lot of the same emotions as footy - the sense of occasion, being there with all your friends, the same rituals before and and after, every week. I doubt it could happen to me now, but ten years ago when I was younger and more impressionable, certainly. Similarly, now whenever I go to watch Zenit, I try to muster up some sort of passion, and even though they're riding high and playing some great football, I just can't manage more than polite applause when a goal goes in, and don't feel even a tinge of disappointment when they concede. I'm sure this is linked to the firt bit about clubbing, vaguely......
