Been in the Gatehouse this evening (used to be Devonshire/Chatsworth), now reopened as a real ale pub and a good job they've done too.

Pub is decorated/furnished ok, nice selection of beers from smaller breweries - tonight I had Wentworth Best, Clarke's Blonde and a very fine IPA from Skipton's Copper Dragon brewery.

Well kept ales and the Landlord was making a point of going around and chatting to the patrons.

Seems a decent guy who is committed to a real ale pub and keeping the beers in good condition

A welcome and long overdue additional to tarn!

The London Tykes went in that pub before the Swindon game. Must say we were impressed, good range of real ales and good food at reasonable prices. Landlord was friendly, although he is a Wednesday fan.

Didn't discuss football with him and didn't see any Wednesday stuff about either.

Doubt he would either if he wants to promote his business (the memorabilia that is), he used to be in Buxton before taking over.

We went in the Gatehouse before the match and after the match

Me and arrrrrrrrr young un were in
There were a a couple of groups of guys in theer
Including a group from Ireland with McPhails best man at his wedding among them
I had a quiet word - as yer do
But same owd story, we dunt know one another from this board do we
If I said I was the biggest thing in the pub then one of you London tykes may remember me
Me very tall (6' 6") and very good looking. Mi bruver, uglier, a bit smaller but a lot louder
Only problem with this boozer was that there wasn't a tele
There were two guys dressed in black clobber. One of these were supposed to be the manager, although I doubt it cos he was a reight miserable bleeder
    But one things for sure
If tha wants a decent pint before or after the match there is only one place in TARN to get it and its in here
I were supping TIGER - try and see !!!

    When did you go in?

Cause on Saturday there was an uncouth, load mouth women insisting on saying things to everyone who came in! Apart from her though it was a decent crowd.

Didn't think it too expensive - a pint of decent ale and a shot of Jameson's was £4. Considering the ridiculous prices they charge in town for bottles and ***** ale!
