RE: Two guys in red shirts at 1pm, were they any of you 2 red shirts, an older guy and a young lady???
RE: Yeah So you were smoking in the bit between non-smoking and smoking? Good on him then I say. And not surprised you get a reaction if you tell him to shut up. Top place, never had a problem with him, remebers us, get the occasional free pint off him as well when wrong pint was pulled.
You need a pocketful of 'arm and a leg' to pay for the drinks You can go across the road to Brammas and get a decent drink for a fraction of what that Landlord rips you off for, altho it takes an age to get served.</p> Not bad if you go early though. </p> Ever since the Gatehouse Landlord whispered in my ear to "follow Wednesday", I've hated it </p> </p>
Had a bloody good pint of Kelham Island on Saturday in the Gatehouse. I'd rather pay a bit more and get a decent pint than drink Smiths Smooth or Carling. I do miss having a chat with Nudge though. </p> Brammers is OK if you want to wait 20 minutes to get served by a blond lass who shows as much enthusiasm as a pig on it's way to the abattoir. Last time we went in there we bought two rounds every time we went to the Bar. In fact I think Spartacus bought 3 rounds. </p>
RE: Yeah "Top Place"</p> </p> Glad you like it ES and good on you for enjoying your pints there, but personally I think it's awful. </p>
'Standing on the border' means standing on the border, hardly smashing chairs up and starting fights. If he can't deal with running a occasionally busy pub he might need get out of the pub game.
I agree....he keeps a cracking pint in there. Usually go to Bramah's for a couple and then onto the Gatehouse when supping in town
RE: 'Standing on the border' I know the area you mean....means don't smoke in it cause it will carry into non-smoking area. Won't have that problem for long anyway.
ON THE BORDER are you acting this dumb for a reason, sorry for having a go at your favourite pub but when i get treat like scum in a pub i get annoyed. And the only reason i was stood on the 'border' was cos the bold headed fool was bumbling about trying to sweep a broken glass up. I must have a point as even the bar staff were openly slating him to customers that were picking up on his antics.
Went in there once Prices were shocking! You'd expect to pay those prices in more up market pubs but not a town centre pub
RE: Went in there once For some of us Gatehouse is up market. </p> Ever had a pint in the Little George in Wombwell? Proper Pub mind is't George. </p> (pint) </p>
