Morning all, not been on for donkey's as have been working away, but i was at the game on saturday, and what a fantastic day out.... amazing, never been happier - well once, but that involved a 1/2 lb of fudge. anyways, just wondering; as a matter of fairness will the likes of SM, jay, tina tyke and all the others who called GS, PC and Andy Rich Tea etc, useless, incompetent, lacking in experience, not fit for the job, the cheap option, etc etc, that we all read for months and months after they took over - comments of such a nature that GS, in the past - a regular poster, decided not to post or read this board anymore. will those people who made such comments now write to the club, admitting they were wrong and apologising? Do they have the backbone - we'll see.
Hang on As much as i'll take the piss out of folk, why should they write to the club and apologise ? They said things as they saw them at the time.
And trust me, SM is Barnsley through and through. The long tosspot.
Can't we just all be happy we've gone up and each look forward to trying to be the bestest fan next season in the Championship ?

Whoa I've been a Ritchie defender from the start. I had a row with GS but it was nothing about the way the club was being run. It was over one issue and GS has said that was nothing to do with why he stopped posting.
RE: Hang on Johnb has a point though. There were a few who are prepared to knock but not got the bottle to admit they were wrong!
RE: Hang on yeah me too, no the problem was, it was unfounded, nasty, vicious comments, really attacking people who were trying to help - constantly being criticised and abused - these werent constructive comments, they were attacks, i even remember comments by various parties saying that GS, as a property developer was going to sell up the land of the club and he'd be earning from it, just absolute rubbish, as has plainly transpired Not only have they proved the doubters wrong, they have exceeded all expectations - those same people who put the boot in, now basking in the glory of promotion - will they say they were wrong, on every count... will they apologise for the attacks on the character of these people - thats only fair isnt it. No doubt, if, or should i say when, they start to criticise the club in the future, no doubt they will conveniently forget about this week's triumphs, like they've forgotten about their past attacks, and i use that word specifically. just my thoughts like.
RE: Whoa ok jay, i dont know about that, but i remember some comments you posted on here that were simply attacks mate, are you now prepared to stand up say you were wrong, GS, PC and AR know best, and you were wrong.?
to be fair jay never "attacked" anyone. all his post are reasoned and backed up. even though his opinions are ****.hehe
RE: Whoa i think you need to back up your claim's with evidence, before running your mouth off at certain folk on here.
RE: Whoa As far as I recall all the comments regarding GS or PC were about the relationship between the club and the fans/pricing/building of stands etc. Many of those issues still exist and are nothing to do with BFC getting promoted. If someone reckons tickets are too expensive why should they apologise for their view coz BFC has gone up?
RE: Whoa i dont think i do, 1, if we check back of previous threads, going back a year or so, its there. secondly, when has anyone backed up their 'claims' against GS, PC etc, with evidence before??? if thats going to be the condition of this forum, then sod all will be said. I remember one particular post, slagging off GS for putting up season tickets, but we now know, the club has now broken even, if he hadn't have done that, the club wouldn't - who's right or wrong there??? Jay, that was a post of yours, really put the boot in.
RE: Hang on I can see where he's coming from. Especially with some of the personal abuse direct at Ritchie and Hayes especially. But those that abused, must now accept the piss being ripped out of them. That's opinions.
There are some right miserable Barstewards follow Barnsley, and I heard some at the CIvic Reception complaining ffs, but that's life.

Wrong about what? What attacks? Did I think we'd get promoted? No. I was wrong and I'm absolutely ecstatic about that. Did I ever complain about us not getting promotion? No. I could see the good work that Ritchie had been doing from the start and I was right behind him. Just because I didn't expect promotion doesn't mean I wasn't happy about the improvement I saw on the pitch and I've said as much many, many times. The argument I had with GS was about the POTY award last season. I asked a question many times. I did not make a personal attack. Any apologies that were needed were said at the time to GS. One issue that I have been vocal about is the pricing policy. I still think it was too high and I make no apologies for airing my views on that. When the new pricing policy for next season came out I made an effort to congratulate the club on freezing prices and bringing in the excellent new under 11 prices. When things happen that I believe are right I will say so. When the reverse is true I will say so.
RE: Whoa So the hike in seasons tickets made the difference between profit and loss? So someones not allowed to comment on the fact they're too high or the effect it has on the crowds now and in the future? ffs with a berry compote
RE: Whoa no, rubbish im afraid; do you remember all the posts saying that GS wouldnt be able to attract new players as he doesnt have the contacts... well, look at the people he's brought in, all good performers (and we'll see what happens with Kell i guess), criticism that AR was the wrong choice, just the cheap option, again, proved to be absolute rubbish - goes far further than relationship with fans, teh relationship with fans deterirated after he was attacked on here.
RE: Whoa There is a massive difference between claiming ticket prices are too high and making a personal attack and if you can't see the difference this argument is pointless.
RE: Hang on Well, you'll get personal attacks on the players etc on here, it's the nature of an open forum.
Some have made themselves look absolute cvnts. They know who they are.

Excellent post. I demand they all apologise too. especially Jay. I also demand you learn the difference between 'general' and 'specific'.
And just to add weight to that http://www.barnsleyfc.org.uk/bbs/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=30000&mid=185902#M185902
