I thought the midfield was excellent yesterday, the best I've seen for some time. Some of the passing was a joy to watch and if Macken had scored the pen, we'd have probably won 4 or 5-nil.

    Is a penalty worth 4 or 5 then ?

it was not when Howard took em.
I read a lot about Howard only being able to score so many cos he took the pens, Now you can see why he did.

exactly. it can only be on this site that the barnsley captain gets slaughtered for scoring so many goals cos they were penalties. unbelieveable. and yet an ex premiership centre forward cant score one himself. quality. howard had the cheek and the confidence to chip / dink a few in last year making keepers look daft. pity he was sat in the stand and en route to bramall lane eh?

I agree withyou, Howard has been a great player for us the past 3 seasons, however, I saw a difference in him after the Liverpool game last season.

I think he started to believe the hype a bit, unfortunately we had to win a couple of games to stay up, which we did away from home without Howard in the team.

Its obvious he wanted to go in the summer, fair play to the lad, who wouldn't want to go for more money. I can't seewhat anyone at the club could have done to get him to stay. We can,t match the wages he'll get elsewhere so we need to get what we can before he walks away for nothing.

Don't think he deserves to be slated though...
