With my copy of XP being a non-genuine one I dont have automatic updates installed. But If I download Internet Explorer 7 (currently running 6) will this bugge rmy pc up again and keep giving me those "genuine copy" pop-ups and reminders all the time?

After years of parasiting I bought the bullet and paid for a genuine copy, no problems anymore. However I think you need a non-genuine copy of the business version of xp to avoid the warnings if you don't want to pay. I think its made to allow multiple installations in workplaces so it doesn't have all the protection that retail ones do. You can buy the education version anyway for a lot less than the full price. About £70.
