David Crompton SYP Chief constable has been suspended as a result of the Hillsborough inquiry. He wasn't appointed until 2012 and was previously at West Yorkshire. I assume he wasn't involved in the disaster per se, so what has he done to warrant the suspension ? There must be a reason but I don't know what it is. Can anyone enlighten me please ?
So by the same token, if the cover up investigation leads back to Downing Street then Dodgy Dave will have to go
I think it's more to do with the fact that in 2012 he was the same Chief constable of South Yorkshire admitted "grave errors" were made during the Hillsborough disaster and apologised "profoundly". However, from what was said last night on Newsnight, during the inquest, SYP responses and comments when called upon did not reflect this sentiment. Andy Burnham was pretty upset at this last night, hence his calls today.
In short the guys an arsehole. SYP have let down it's people time and time again through lies and coverups. Think of it like an under pressure manager of a football club, sometimes people just need a change.... (Off with his dead, and then Dodgy Dave & his pal Osbourne after)
Take into consideration aswell the SYP child abuse cover up. SYP it would seem should add 'lieing its arse off since 1984' (Orgreave) to its force badge.
I think it's to do with the line the Barristers acting for SYP took during the inquest, that is maintaining the hooligan drunks line which is at odds with Cromptons previous apology, he would have been in on the Barrister briefings
