Seems puzzling that this guy has been appointed to referee the QPR game on Tuesday. It would be interesting to know whether the club has made representations about the appointment of Mr Eltringham for his second visit to us in just five league games, particularly given the backdrop of his very poor performance against Ipswich, which in turn follows his farcical display against Bristol City last season, where physical assaults drawing blood went unpunished. His overall record on his last six visits to Oakwell of no home wins and four defeats is also vastly out of kilter with our prevailing home record over the period. It's okay for people from the club to bemoan decisions such as the non-penalty award on Bradshaw today but does the club do enough to highlight the hefty weight of decisions that go against us to the authorities? As one of many examples, I can think of three obvious non-penalties given against us last year (Leeds/Fulham/Wigan) that indisputably weren't anything of the sort. Add in the Keith Stroud at Ipswich highlight tape, the Gary O'Neil unpunished assault and the McFadzean at Burton missed attack just for starters. Just my opinion, but as a team/fans/club we seem to let poor/biased refs off the hook these days far too easily and they don't get the pressure that others put them under.
It seems odd that we've had the same ref twice in quick succession. I think the referee from the Spurs game was also the referee for the Sheffield United game.
Patrick cryne used to complain to the fa so much that they sent somebody out to watch tapes with him and gave him a personal apology
