Don't forget "Can't be any good because his previous club had a poor team" , "We're Barnsley and shouldn't be signing players from clubs beneath us in the football pyramid".(shakrhead) (seestars)

Interesting Especially since he was only on loan to the blunts and remains a West Brom player. Still, I'd like to see him in a red shirt.
RE: Interesting Think there was an agreement that blunts had to sign him at end of the loan deal. Summat funny went on with him and Colin
RE: Interesting Incorrect. The blunts agreed to sign him for £1m after his loan ended. They tried to send him back and Robson issued a statement saying they couldn't and that he was officially a sheff utd player....
That would make sense. Had a discussion today with someone who'd heard Horsefield's name mentioned at the club but we couldn't believe we could afford him.
Fair enough Soccerbase and both official sites still have him as a West Brom player. Whilst we all know too well that the official sites often talk cobblers, Soccerbase is usually a reliable resource.
Blunts own him, on £8K per week According to one of Blunts here Sh@t utd agreed a 1 year loan deal and to sign him at end of season for £1.2m. Apperently he's on £8K per week so unless Blunts paying some of wages would be surprised to see him down Oakwell. Hope I'm wrong though!! T'Hoss for't Tarn !!!
from SUFC site <div class="articleText"><h3 class="headline" id="headline">Gaffer confirms Horsfield peace </h3><div class="articleBody" id="articleBody"> Neil Warnock and Geoff Horsfield have wiped the slate clean and the on-loan West Brom striker will complete his summer move to the Lane.</p> The United boss says: "I talked to all the lads at the end of the season and let them know that I expect them to come back fit and ready to go.</p> "Geoff is no different to anyone else, what's gone is gone and he will fight for a place like the rest."</p> The 32 year old made only one start and two substitute appearances for United and was not involved in the closing matches of the season, not even training with the squad in the latter stages.</p> But Horsfield, who suggested a further loan out to keep him involved, has revealed that his permanent Blades career is now very much on the cards:</p> "Neil and I sat down for a talk a few days ago and everything is sorted out. Yes, we had differences of opinion on occasions but you get that in football when everyone wants to play.</p> "The Gaffer explained that he wanted to continue with his existing squad that had got the Club into a good position so I wasn't involved for a few games. I understand that and, although I am looking for a house in Sheffield now, it made sense then for me to stay in the Midlands and train rather than travel every day in that situation.</p> Now I am looking forward to coming back after the summer, getting in a good pre-season and playing in the Premiership again. I want it to be like signing a new player because I will come back fit and hungry to win a place in the team, making it difficult for the manager not to pick me."</p></div></div>
After reading Chopra's comments on our official site I'll reserve my judgement on any player's comments , in future . It seems to me , certain players will say what they think people want to hear , rather than tell the truth or say nothing .
I thought Chopra was saying Il'd be interested in signing for Barnsley if the offer was right but no official approach has been made and until it is I'm off elsewhere.</p> Come and get me.</p> i.e. We obviously were not prepared to make an offer or were hoping nowt would happen until 1st July.</p>
Geoff Horsfield used to live in Barnsley. Maybe he still does. I know I went to his house to photograph him.
