David's son being touted as the next big thing ... remember the impact his dad made was incredible. Never seen a kid with that much power and pace - hope he doesn't pick up his dad's injuries
Yes he looks promising have been down to watch him a few times. He won't ever get a chance were he is too many superstars in front of him. Let's hope there go up then we could try and put a sneaky bid him for him
No matter who we have produced past or present, no one will match the impact David Hirst made for me. Breathtaking. If his lad's half as good, he'll be a player.
I remember Hirst breaking into the first team and he was one of those once in a generation players where I thought 'wow this lad is going to the very top'. If his son is anywhere near as good he will go far.
It still sticks in my throat that they had our pants down when they signed him but circumstances at the time played into their hands. If he wasn't so injury prone he'd have won a lot more England caps.
Flipping heck! It only seems two minutes since his Dad was making his debut for us as a 17 year old! Excuse me whilst I find my pipe and slippers and settle down with a nice mug of Horlicks!
What's worse is that when he was a 17 year old, making his debut, I was a 17 year old watching. #feelold
I think you missed the sarcasm! They say that people from Barnsley are six fingered inbreeds, yet their hero is from here!
He was a great player though ... remember Blackburn away. He ran them all over the place. Why did we let him go there? :-(
