thought he was poor tonight, think we need a new lb asap. his place seems to be safe, we only have lewin who can play there and lets be honest, hes no Lb
He's poor every game he hampers our attacking game massively. I find it worrying that people think he's any good. He's a league 2 footballer at best. Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
He's still learning , good defender but not positive going forward yet . Rather play smithy there than nyatanga or sign another on loan though
Best we have in that position. I think he has developed but still a lot to do. Today wasn't his best game. He needs competition and the ability to be rested as he is still only young. More experience in that position to help mentor will bring him on too. Right now the position is a weak one for us.
Agree with this bit. That might come with time/the right coaching (might be waiting some time) Disagree with this bit. He's not poor every game no matter how many times you reiterate it. Not being good attacking-wise doesn't mean he's a poor defender. One of the most consistent (in a good way) performers in a League One side, at 19, doesn't suggest he's a League Two player at best either. I do think he could do with a rest/some competition though.
He looks terrified of making a mistake and that is hampering his natural game (at least what I saw in numerous U21 games). As a result that position is a major weakness for us. I'm hopeful he will develop but who knows....
I'm my opinion passing it backwards and sideways every time is poor and he does it every game. Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
Maybe give Templeton a chance just to give Smith what I think is a much needed rest. Sent from my thl 5000 using Tapatalk
Wow. That's some slating for a player who has won MOM in at least one game, and in the home games I've seen has been one of the better performers. You must be waiting for his every mistake, whilst ignoring everything else around you.
He also provided some of our best attacking play in recent home games, in games we lost, putting good balls into the box, when no-one else was offering anything. But go ahead, pull down an 18 yr old at the start of his career, heaven forbid he should make any mistakes.
I've explained earlier he passes sideways and backwards in every game which is poor. Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
But he doesn't though, does he? Your assessment is poor. I see him countless times pass the ball up the line, and also deliver balls into the box. Do you close your eyes at those moments?
You must only open yours eyes once a game then because every other time he controls the ball then passes it inside or backwards and slows down our play. Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
Every other time? So, in other words, every other time, he passes the ball forwards? Something you said he never does. You decide. I'll say he's a young kid, and at the moment he's the best option we have for left back. We could do with not destroying the confidence of our only proper left back, just now. Especially by our own fans. He's put in some good performances this season, and when he's put in some not so good ones, there has always been someone who has been worse. There's absolutely tons of shiteness you could pick on at BFC at the moment, but George Smith is a million miles off being one of them.
Is this a **** take? He's a 7/10 regular performer in the vast majority of his games! He's the youngest of the back line and shouldn't be singled out, but supported. He's 30 if that 1st team games under his belt in an all too struggling team and the best we can do is question a young lad that imho is more than holding his own
