Dont know if any one has been following the case at all.

George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin get into an altercation and Trayvon Martin was shot dead.

I think all hell may break out in Florida in the next few hours

Would be interested to hear the evidence, or lack thereof.

So many different ways of going at this case.

i think in the coming weeks more and more will become apparent but the prosecution had no real evidence against Zimmerman other than the shooting.

Would a young man have died if Zimmerman wasnt carrying a gun,I dont think so. Once again it comes down to the right to bear arms.

That rule is ridiculous and in this day and age I can't believe it's still not been scraped.

    Love the quote about that.....

"The right to bear arms makes as much sense as the right to arm bears!"

The right to bear arms has as much to do with protecting oneself against a potentially aggressive authoritarian state than it does to shoot intruders. Americans do not trust their federal government and quite rightly so. Their constitution is constantly under threat from some pretty shady people. IMO 250 years old or not, never more relevant. If Americans just trusted the government and did what they were told they'd still be British, subjects of the crown, like us… not free.

It's different state by state and the main part in this case was a the "stand your ground" law, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stand-your-ground_law and the issue comes down to lack of witnesses. Evidence seemed to point to Martin attacking Zimmerman and being on top of him in a fight. Personally I think Zimmerman should have been convicted of manslaughter.

If you understood the background to it, and the circumstances in certain areas then you see why it hasn't. It's an intrinsic part of the American psyche and whilst there should probably be stricter controls it will never be erradicated

    You are right eaststander.
    I thought manslaughter too.

It still comes down to the fact that if Zimmerman hadnt a gun would someone still have died that night.

Personally no there would have been a fight but i dont think it would have gone as far as death.
