Have suspended driving tests indefinitely due to the pandemic and 16 year olds will now be allowed to get a licence with no test, only parents permission. What the ****? https://www.complex.com/life/2020/0...;utm_source=twitter.com&utm_medium=social
The same state whose Governor was one of the last to lockdown using the excuse that they'd only found out the day before about asymptomatic carriers being a thing despite the rest of the world and their dog knowing it for months.
are'nt the yank kids taught to drive at school as part of their lessons then take a test ?............................ sorry cant spell curricullum
It's not as nutty as it first seems. If my dad hadn't thought I was ready to drive on my own he wouldn't have issued me with a licence, if that's how it was done. Parents love their kids, they don't voluntarily put them in dangerous situations. Would that be the case for everyone? No, but it would for most. The driving test in India involves getting in the car driving in a straight line for 100 yards then stopping. That's it.
My dad passed his test in the Army. He played cricket and so did the bloke supposed to be the examiner. They were in Cyprus and he was told to drive a lorry around the yard while the examiner had a *** and a cuppa. He duly did without hitting anything and passed. How we screamed when we went on holiday.
A workmate is Indian. He passed his driving test in India, then moved to the USA. Had to take and pass his test there. He married and moved to the UK, and had to pass his third different driving test in three countries before he could enjoy driving here properly....
Taught me a lot about driving Stairfoot roundabout. The trepidation upon approach during my early lessons was very real.
Wife is from GA. Let’s just say road safety isn’t something taken very seriously there. It’s perfectly legal to go 70 mph down the interstate in a 6 wheel truck with the phone to your ear.
