Heard a fact early this morning on TalkSport that Hansi Flick is the first Germany manager to be sacked, ever, since the association was formed in the 1920s.

Mind blowing given the way managers are dispensed of these days!

Always done well as a nation. Sounds like they’re finding it hard to attract who they want but it’s a free hit for someone to get a trophy in a home Euros.

I don't understand why they have been given another tournament as hosts. But if it wasn't them, it would probably have gone to Italy or France yet again.

Is it a free hit though? The expectation for them to do well will be there, even if they've underachieved since 2018.

I can't think of anywhere better to be honest.

I wish we had the German, Dutch, Italian and Spanish mentality. If you don't bring home the trophy. There's no gallant loser tag. It's failure tear it up and prepare for the next tournament. Also it's centred around the World Cup using the Euros as prep.

I think the biggest issue they’re having at the moment is they don’t seem to be producing goal scorers. The best teams in Germany are importing Kane, Lewandowski etc because there are no great German centre forwards around.

Having a boring one club top flight has ruined the national team.

It doesn't matter whether they/Germany will put on a good tournament, which I'm sure they will admittedly.
Shouldn't they be shared out though more fairly, to other nations who can and do meet the criteria.

All their best players are playing similar position

    Kroos
    Ikay
    Kimmich
    Havertz
    Goretzska

Theirs no balance. Although I'm sure they will sort themselves out. They always do

Haverts certainly isn't one of their best players bud!

But I do agree with your point. Other than Ter-Stegen and Musiala their best talent are roughly all in the same position. Even Sane is a shade of his former self at the minute...

I don't know why Arteta signed him. A lot of the attacking threat goes when he gets the ball.

Don't think most of their fan base did either. He was great at Leverkusen but been poor overall in the Premier League. Nobody missed more big chances than him last season iirc. Ideally his best position is that number 10 role but he won't dislodge Odegaard. Think he was a replacement for Xhaka but certainly isn't working yet. Think there were many many better options than Havertz, I know Arteta likes versatile players but still surprising!

Not many nations can afford to run a large international tournament with the current economy.

It's doing Scotland the world of good. Granted, Celtic have a lot of Japanese players but still.

A lot of the Scottish players play in a proper league though like ours.
