gerrard is one of the greatest players in the world in centre mid, so i can't understand why he isnt played there everytime, also he plays with alot more passion then most of the players

Agree 100%, If anyone should be stuck out on the laft wing it should be Lampard cos he's always **** for England. Gerrard should always start in the middle of the park, he's being wasted tonite!!!!!

dont talk rubbish! 'stevie g' never plays with any passion and walks around sulking like a spoilt kid, he only likes when it suits him, its just said that he hasn't socred for England in over a year, think Lampard has scored 3 in that time, all while getting the stick from the 'fans'.
Stevie G was sulking playing behind torres at liverpool until he realised that the pace of torres made him look good! and dont get me started on his passing 1 in 10 go where he intended them, and everyone peaks over that 1, how many times has he used he ball in a positive play???

RE: Bentley, Right wing.... I dont get it!!!

if he's Beckham's replacement, we're in for a long stay in the International wilderness.

He's being touted as the new Beckham.

So, another one-footed, overhyped freekick specialist then...

Beckham was more than that mate

There was a period of two or three years when Beckham was England.

    Not to mention

his contribution in our first goal last night. He's still the best there is at delivering set pieces, how many games are settled by set pieces? Lots. Bentleys crossing reminded me of Chris Shuker.

Which says more about England than Beckham, really.

Good at what he does - maybe even the best - but as an all-round footballer he's incredibly limited and always has been. Won't knock his effort, his set piece delivery and his timely goals which did save us on more than one occassion, but the fact that somebody so one-dimensional is/was regarded as world class will always get my back up.
