The Newcastle United striker added: "I have been offered a new deal by Newcastle but it is only for one year and with some new strikers set to come into the club, maybe it is time to move on. I need to be playing first team football and I think I will find myself down the pecking order again. "I have come to the age where I need to be playing regularly. I really enjoyed my time with Barnsley and coming back to Oakwell is always going to be an attractive option for me. There are other teams interested so we will have to wait and see. "Ideally I would like to play at the highest level possible and stay in the Premiership or Championship at least. If Barnsley get promoted this weekend then who knows what could happen in the future".
