Looks like we saw something in him but he didn't develop enough to challenge the first team. If he had something that grabbed the attention of our scouts though I can't see him being a bad bet for a side in the relegation spots of the Conference. Good luck to him.
Not even that really, don’t think he signed while September/October so 3/4 months at tops plus he’s been out on loan since the start of December, must have had a punt on him after seeing how VA has done
A cheap gamble which didn't pay off, hey ho. Imagine if it had, and one will at some point! Lets keep scratching round and giving lads a chance as well as scouring Europe. Imagine if we eventually double or even triple our money on Mama, the stick that poor lad gets.
I’ve watched quite a bit of national league football this season, size is everything! Every team has central defenders the size of reda Johnson (he’s at Eastleigh by the way) and it’s a tough physical league for the most part Gerry Mac might do ok for Aldershot, these players are no lose gambles for us, get them in for very little cost abd recycle them back out if they aren’t up to the required standard
Most of them are for free and there wages aren’t big enough to make a difference, it’s not like we’re plying 100s of thousands into them it’s young lads released by bigger academies who we think might have a future
All clubs are punters though. To go back to the Man Citys and Chelseas they've got youth teams stuffed full of talented youngsters knowing 95% will never hold down a first team shirt. They just hope the odd one comes good and look to loan and subsequently sell the rest.
