Awful defending. I'd be embarrassed if a Barnsley player lunged in like that. No need to make a tackle
Don't understand how Demichellis is still at that club. Never been good there. Dont rate Mangala either. Last time they played together they lost 4-1 to Liverpool
And so another youth is best thread begins. Looks a good prospect though. Be great with some experience behind him.
same two players again. Why didn't he get the Penalty. Love how the older city defenders tried to accuse him of diving and he just stuck up for himself.
Was 100% a penalty, exactly the same as the Benteke one at Palace, impeded his ability to play the ball. Demichelis, Mangala, Otamendi, Savic... Theyve wasted some ****ing money on awful centre halfs. Even Kompany seems to have gone these days. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
"the older city defenders" You just can't drop it can you? And I think it's a bit harsh on Kompany saying he's lost it a bit. Constant injuries with his knee it'd be hard for any player to get consistent, especially with how poor City have been overall
Jamie Vardy sort of kicks the argument anyway as does the experience in the heart of the Leicester defence. Wes Morgan no spring chicken but has probably been the best Centre back in the league. In fact Leicester in general must be a nightmare for Phil. No possession football 2 up front and an ancient team (in his terms). Funny though.
This youth player bias is getting a bit old now (pun intended) 'marra. At the end of the day, every player is different. Some are talented enough to hit the ground running when a teenager, and that raw talent can make up for lack of experience(Owen, Rooney etc..) Some are good enough as a young player to get by(and sometimes excel), then get better with experience(Messi, C.Ronaldo etc...). Some need the experience to turn them into top players(Vardy, Austin etc...) Then there are all those in between. Also, bear in mind that experience doesn't equal old. Messi is only 28 and has over 300 games of valuable experience. Would you want to swap him for Rashford(who i think is a great talent who will be at his best when he has 100 or so games worth of experience under his belt) In the end though, experience is the only attribute/characteristic that EVERY player who has ever kicked a ball will develop, one way or another. And just think on, at one point, all these "old" players that you like to slag off were young lads and all these young wonderkids that you worship will eventually replace them and be the older players...
Good prospect. Man U are going to need him now Rooney is over the hill. Maybe he should go to the Euros instead of Wayne?
Good to see another young English talent coming through. I'll say this much though, one poster said otimendi was a waste of money.... he's a fantastic defender but he's had muppets like mangala or demichelis at the side of him a season.
I think if Kompany could stay fit and have a proper run in at side of Otimendi next season it'd probably be best pairing in the league
Otamendi isnt good enough for that kind of level. I fully expect Pep to get rid of them all baring Kompany over the next year or so and sign Aymeric Laporte from Bilbao. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
There's been rumours on the web that Laporte will go to City... but to replace Kompany due to his injuries. Apparently Pep doesn't want to put up with it
I'm surprised he hasn't made a senior cap for France yet. I'd play him over Koscheilny, Sakho and Matheiu. Him and Varane would make a good partnership
