Fans start to worry over Oakwell transfers
The Chronicle has this week received a number of letters from frustrated fans who are concerned over what they believe is a lack of action in the transfer market - with the season just over a month away. A handful of letters will be printed in this week's edition

    As someone said..

Wow! As if anyone from the Club will worry about that!

The Club will do what it has to do and they will not be influenced by anything printed in the Chronicle.
Trouble is, this lack of transfer activity and low key drumming down of any intentions to strengthen the squad, is in itself, not doing the Club any long term favours.
The feeling coming out of Oakwell for the fans is one of negativity and 'scraping the barrel through'!
    It's a shame.
We all know we have to 'cut the cloth accordingly' - (God, how I hate that Bassett phrase,) but there you have it and there is no getting away from it.
    We are skint.
We have to stay in this league this season and if we do there are better times ahead but at this moment in time we are skint

What I was going to say was, re. skint.....

we'd have been an awful lot skinter without 2 games agin Hudds and a Cardiff final !
Does ANYONE have any idea how much income was generated as a result of these 3 'extra' matches...... plus what came from Sky?

According to a "independant" financial body, the club were estimated to have made 650.000 from the TV coverage, ticket sales and merchandise.
And we are Far from SKINT with only a million pound deficit to be projected for over the next 2 seasons.

Is that including our loans to PC? didn't he lend us some cash (£1M) last season to tide us over?

PC gave the club the funds as a fan to keep the club afloat, the debts to date are for discrepancies from the Doyle era, players wages who have left the club as well as managers contracts being paid up, believe it or not we only finished paying Steve Parkins contract up this January!!

I thought PC gave us a loan rather than to keep, I may be be wrong there. Hope so!

I though Parkin was sacked by the Administrator

and therefore wasn't entitled to any compensation? He was one of the creditors who voted against the package when we came out of admin.
