I noticed that the Football league is now [belatedly] altering the rules on clubs entering administration. Instead of 'up to the end of the playing season' there will be a cut off date in future after which the points deduction will apply the following season. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/6670777.stm Better late than never I suppose.
Searched the board and I think you are OK on the Windass front You have first Windassing rights if anyone else posts this later And as Paul.d says - shutting stable doors whilst the horse is leaping out of the field but better late than never
If Leeds had stayed up at the expense of us after going into administration but with the points deduction taking place next year instead of this, there would have been blue murder screamed on here.
Maybe the clause should be reworded Any club entering administration between the 1st March and end of season shall have a provisional 10 point deduction applied with immediate effect. In the event of either a) the club finishing with a points total which is more than 10 points less than the club in the 3rd relegation spot this penalty shall be deemed to have had no material effect and will be carried over to the following season. or b if the club finishes with more than 10 points more than the club in the 3rd relegation position but outside the promotion or playoff places this penalty shall be deemed to have had no material effect and will be carried over to the following season. ie if the 10 points affects the current season you take it now, if it doesnt it gets carried over might need a bit of work to cover the unlikely scenario of a club 11 points clear at the top taking an early admin but hard to see that happening
Should be as mentioned before they are deducted the next 10 points they win, that way it could, potentially, cross from one season to the next
