Redders and Winstanley nicely if they would mind motivating a team to survival for the last couple of months. Not surprised by the result. I expected a battering anyway (after last weeks performance) but the club from top to bottom fills me with despair. Another bad weekend and another step towards the pit of Division three! Wonder if GS is ruing his decision to appoint a rookie with a few badges who probably had no idea where Barnsley was before he arrived as kids coach. Anyway nice to see hes improved our defence so much. We were shipping goals before he arrived!
i would get a bit of experience in - Joe Royle , preferably Bassett i think the criticism of the board is completely over the top on this board. they made a decision, which at the time thought was right for BFC. A lot of people disagreed, I think it is now becoming clear that it was the wrong decision. Davey took the offer, can't blame him for that. I think the board have now got to make another brave decision - someone with a bit of experience really could give the players a lift they need - if the discontent in the dressing room is true and im pretty sure it is, then getting rid of Davey in itself may give the required lift. even Redders and Winstantly I would be happy with. The position at present is becoming untenable.
I wanted Joe Royle from the off Well i would have given Ritchie more time but Royle was my first choice if he had to go. Apparantly hes not interested in managerial jobs. Would rather be on the telly. You might be onto something with Dave Bassett though. Wonder if he would be interested?
RE: i would get a bit of experience in - Joe Royle , preferably Bassett I would go for Royle, he'd get the players' respect. But I'm afraid we're stuck with Davey. No way will he be sacked yet. Shepherd will not sanction another manager's pay off so quickly after Ritchie. It's a complete bleedin mess and whichever way you look at it there seems no way out.
We need to do a Charlton Realise we made a big mistake, sack Davey, and get someone with experience in.
What we need is a manager to manage davey.. And advise him on the error of his team selections, where are you Winnie!! (cryin)
Pay off? What contract has he signed? Ive seen nothing in the media that says he signed a contract. Which if true would be every handy right now
My point and I made it yesterday is that......... He seems to speak of our team as 'another team'</p> He seems so remote from us.</p> Listen to his interviews and you wil understand where I am coming from on this.</p> He does not sound as if he is a part of what we are all going through in these bad footballing times </p> I am gutted. I really am</p>
i can't imagine that we would have to pay him a great deal i reckon his contract would be structured in such a way that minimal compensation would be owed. If there is any chance of getting Bassett - I would move heaven and earth to gte him
