This place used to be rife for people, all pissed up, having a laugh together... Before all those hover boards and Ipants. Having said that during the day it was still full of moaning tw@ts like Young Fudger and Drag-on tyke. We need to make a stand. If you are pissed up and you are in, then lets take this place back to its former glory. Granted, my delete button has just been hammered but there is fun to be had. Next week I will meet you all here at 9pm with a view to going back to 1998.
I'm a bit drunk if that helps. Don't know if you watched Live at the Apollo tonight, but if not check it out on i-player. It's usually *****, but tonight it was really funny. All three acts were superb.
Eddie Izzard was the compare with Josh Widdicombe and Trevor Noah as guests. It's not often Eddie Izzard will be upstaged, but he was tonight. There probably are funnier gags than a black bloke walking in to a German sandwich shop and sounding like Hitler, but I haven't heard them in quite a while. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b03jfxdr/Live_at_the_Apollo_Series_9_Episode_1/
Funnily enough, I'm off to see Eddie Izzard here in Calgary on Sunday night - really looking forward to it.
Amen brother. Best part after a night out was posting on here drunk. can you get done for libel while under the influence? 9pm is a bit early though, will be still working on getting drunk by then. 3 fools together.
I think he's brilliant, really hope you enjoy it, which I'm sure you will, but tonight the other two comedians were right on top of their game. Like Jim O'Brien in that second half against Ipswich.
I've seen him a couple of times before and loved it, but I appreciate he is not every one's cup of tea (as with all comedians). After my Tendulkar claim to fame last week, Eddie Izzard is my other one, funnily enough. When he first started out, I ended up being his "prop" on stage in the basement of a pub in South London on a Sunday night in July 1989. There were about 10 of us in there watching his first ever "improv" performance and I was in hysterics. As a result, I have followed him ever since.
