    I understand your point. I guess it's fair enough to bring up Defoe's international record.

    However, Defoe is a proven goalscorer and I just can't see what Owen is going to do at his current level of fitness. Remember that the opposition will get considerably tougher.

    Never been a fan of Defoe.

    I would have taken Darren Bent rather than Defoe.</p>
