    I'm a big MGW fan and do not understand why he isn't in the England squad, especially when I watch players like Connor Gallagher play as he is doing at this very moment. Even though he picks him for the squad, Southgate would never play Gallagher in his first team.

    Maguire is still in the squad too.

    I would imagine Southgate doesn’t see them as been in competition with each other. He’ll see Gibbs White as a forward / number 10 (and he doesn’t play a number 10) & he’ll see Gallagher as competing for the 3rd central midfield slot alongside Rice & Bellingham.

    Does seem harsh on Gibbs-White but we’ve got plenty of good attackers.
