Morrisons cafe yesterday with the youngest, was told off by the young lady on the till when I said we would have a gingerbread man. Sure enough the receipt said Gingerbread person. So just a warning for everyone don't be a sexist misogynist like me when ordering a biscuit.

Been like this in a lot of places for a couple of years now. Dont really care in general, but certainly would never imagine telling someone off over it!

Not a dig at the OP but the things that outrage people always amaze me. I mean do they have enough outrage left for genuinely outrageous things?

Words change. Descriptions change. Words that were thrown around like confetti when I was a kid like ‘poof’ or ‘spaz’ are quite rightly seen as unsayable now just as the phrases that people like my nan used to describe POC would be seen as fairly awful now.

Not taken as a dig at all mate. To be honest I don't mind what they call it but the young lady seemed very serious when "correcting" me. Just amused me more than anything.
The ones you have listed are rooted in a lot more offensive nature than "man" though.

Do Morrisons have Ladies and Gents Toilets or are there only gender neutral ones now?

Changing the name of them is fine by me but telling you off is weird. I’d have been tempted to reply that I specifically wanted a male one.

"Not a dig at the OP"? Hang on...Who was offended? The... err..'person' at the till telling someone off (and therefore taking offence' simply because someone had the affrontery to use the word man when describing a biscuit) or the OP? The word ',man' has never been, and in my World, never will be offensive or unsayable unlike the words you used as examples in your post.

Your post, with respect, whiffs (ever so slightly) of 'virtue signalling'.
