We all want success for the reds but, realistically, whilst we can hope for improvement we shouldn't EXPECT miracles. Robins will inherit the tripe we have been watching so far and, whilst he might start to shuffle things, he can only work with what he's got. Davey did the job he was appointed for - we are still in the Championship! He was then given more time than far more experienced managers before him and although he couldn't make it work, it is credit to the club that he was given a chance. Robins should get the same. We shouldn't start setting unrealistic short-term expectations for Robins: GIVE THE GUY A CHANCE! Two seasons and then we can decide! It wouldn't be good for the club to go back to changing managers every season. Robins is a good choice and the fans need to get behind him - He wants success and so do we - He could be the next Danny Wilson!
If he walks through the door and he says... "we need a centre half, two full backs, JCR get on that wing and stay there... oh and KO sorry"</p> I think he'll have 99% of the fans on his side.</p>
Can I have some of what you are on, please? Mid table mediocrity for a couple of seasons would do me first.
This is the message for the players and the fans It would be good for Robins to have an mmediate impact on results - actually, they can't get a lot worse with four consecutive league defeats. However, what really matters in strong progress in the medium to longer term. Given the choice, I would rather have the latter, but, being greedy, I would rather have both. Either way, he should know Derby County alright, having knocked them out of the cup this season!!! The appointment of any manager has a risk element about it, but this deal has all the characteristics of one which will succeed. Best wishes to Mark and his back-room team. I would take a scrappy 1-0 at Watford any day at the moment - isn't that what Davey got with an injury-time winner from Grant McCann?
And the other 1% will be happy as larry if they're allowed into training sessions with their flasks and corned beef sarnies.
Stamp my authority on the team .... So that's Hassell sorted. "I know some of the players from Rotherah", so that's JCR. "Playing players in their best positions", so that's also JCR then!! Sounds the right sort of things to be saying, like getting points on the board and the season starting now etc. Go for it, Mark!!!
Davey was always on a hiding to nothing and should never have been appointed I was thinking back to the game v wednesday where we looked shocking and got a pasting! Then he was appointed on the back of it. I think this stuck with a lot of fans as well as the fact he was totally inexperienced. Oh well - whats done is done now. At least he didnt take us down and kept us up whilst fetching in a few handy players. Onwards and upwards.
