For my money, he has shown enough over the last few weeks to deserve the job. We all know that he has all the paper qualifications needed, he has also shown himself to be approachable, knowledgeable about the game and totally confident in his own ability.

He has dropped players and brought players in as he sees fit and to suit the match in question, and for the most part his decisions have been spot on. He also has the backing of the players, which is essential.

Davey also has an in depth knowledge of all the players in the club right through from the juniors to the first team, and he is not afraid to give youth a chance when needed. For years we have bemoaned a lack of continuity within the club, let's get it right for once and give Davey the job.

    Cannot Agree

I went to the QPR debacle and if a manager cannot motivate a team in the relegation battle they are in to perform against what is a very poor championship team as QPR are then it shows his man management skills.
He was doing a great job as a Andy Ritchie stand in with no movement impersonating a Corpse and with the enthusiasm of awheelie Bin. (NOOO)

    What about

Alex McLeish, Joe Royale or Ian Dowie?

It's nice to have a manager who doesn't appear to have favourites.
