Absolutely spot on That's one of the reasons why I posted the article. I think he deserves a run in the team - he looked decent against Ipswich last Tuesday when he came on.

Too early to get shut at 18 He deserves a chance on his own, without comparing him to Leon or any other player. Difficult to judge when I've only seen him for a few odd (mainly sub) appearances, but I reckon he has got something.
He is worth a shot anyway IMO I wanted to praise one of our young players and suggest he gets a chance. Who he replaces is another matter of opinion. On current form, he could replace any of the midfield players, except Bobby Hassell. I'm not counting JCR in that because he is playing at right back/sweeper at the moment.
RE: Absolutely spot on i always thought that the criticism of the academy system on here is that when one of them get near the first team for a 15 minute spell, they then leave on loan and then leave on a free transfer? which is probably a pop at the management who would rather recruit foreign players or has beens!

RE: Absolutely spot on I was referring to posts made over the last week or so where people were suggesting the academy should be closed as nothing ever comes from it and the funds used to run it should be allocated elsewhere. Ridiculous thoughts IMHO
RE: He is worth a shot anyway IMO I said after the Ipswich game that the next time SD is considering using Leon he should reconsider and put Butterfield in. He looks as if he can offer more to the game generally than Leon. From what we have seen so far he is worth a go.
