Glad to see we're safe from relegation then. Or 'Rello' as it is now known.

Were Stoke poor going forward or were we strong defensively ?

Did we sit back too muchin 2nd half or were we comfortable containing Stoke ?

Did we only create 2 chances scoring one, or were our strikers clinical ?

Did we hoof the ball or play safety first ?

    Opinions schminions.

Togwell, Nyatanga, Reid. Men of the match. And that tall Hungary Hippo, at long long last, a striker that closes defenders down constantly.

    We didn't show much ...

... but we did stop them showing almost anything.

I don't mind us playing rubbish & having a chance of getting some points.
I was just gutted that we set off playing well & losing ... then started playing rubbish & losing.
I honestly didn't think we had the players in our squad to put in a performance of that style last night ... but the two mental Hungarians chasing defenders down, the enforced inclusion of our best defensive midfielder & the arrival of Lewin seem to have given us that option away from home - which I must applaud Clipboard Colin for.

When I put the Radio on during my trip to the game on Setdi ... if Mattis is in the team at Togwell's expense - I will simply turn the car around & spend the afternoon with my family.

Togwell simply must be first name down on team sheet. The cover he affords the back 4 is priceless. To be fair thought McCann got through some work last night - he just can't turn round, run with the ball or pass.

Other than deciding on Austin or Hassell, that team can't be changed at the minute - maybe drop McCann, move Howard central and get K Reid on left wing if a more attacking option is required - still think Howard's wasted out there.

Agreed, i thought first half in paticular last night he was our best player. The guy ran his heart out and made some vital tackles. Without him in the middle of the park we would struggle to stay up. Don't know what it came across like on the telly but for me was the man of the match.

At least at the moment ...

... I can see what Davey is trying to do.
Earlier in the season I couldn't make out what the **** was going on.

I can understand him playing Howard on the wing away from home.
I've lost count of times on our travels that Bri makes a 60 yard forward run, we lose the ball & it takes him a fortnight to get back.
Teams used to walk through the middle of our park - which is a sacrifice we were willing to make if it meant we could create something.
McCann is more static - he doesn't bomb forward & get in front of the strikers ... so alongside Togwell it means we make it difficult for teams to play through us.

At home, however, it means we marginalise our most creative player.
I'd have him in the centre, at home, every day of the week.
I'd even consider playing three in the middle of the park away from home so you can get him on the ball more.

I've just made all that up.

    Deffo.

    RE: togwell

Ran his blood to water. Him, 'Stan' Reid and Nyatanga stood out last night from the comfort of the settee.
