Yes he played for Wednesday but he is one hell of a championship midfielder and has asked to leave stoke to find first team football. I think we should take him on loan for the rest of the season with an agreed move of circa £1m if we retain championship status. This would give us the 3rd class central midfield player that I feel we need.

Think he is just what we need!!

Because Colace & de Silva won't play every game

From now until the end of the season, due to injuries, suspensions & loss of form and we don't have anyone, other than Leon, as an alternative.

    Does he score goals?

Because that's what we need. Our midfield has looked solid over the last few games and has played a major part in our turn of fortune, but there's just no goals in them. We need a midfield player that can bag 8-10 goals a season. Preferably two.

    He scores goals, yes.

The only draw back with the two, present incumbents. What happens when either of these two don't play? Leon? Hassell?
I only suggested this guy because he's a decent player.

Even when we had Redfearn and Glavin

We also had O'Connell and Banks, both of whom would chip in with a fair few goals.

Anderson De Silva is an absolutely quality player, but I wish he'd start scoring some goals. Davey reckons he does it in training, so maybe there's a chance.

    We need cover, I agree

As I'm far from convinced Leon is up to the task. We also need a left sided midfield player imho.

    Me too

I think we should be building up the quality of our squad. Personally, I don't see that much strength in depth were we to pick up a few absentees.

    Me neither

The first 11 of the past few weeks is fine by me and I'd also say Hassell and Steele are up to the job, but after that the squad looks really thin.

Ok then I see why we need a TOP CLASS midfielder but not a 3rd class one?

    Ah Ronnie

    what a player.

Remember him coming on as sub at Swillsbro with 20mins left and the score 0-0, guess who scored the only goal. Drew the keeper and slipped it past him, magic.

3rd class midfield? He's a mint playmaker. Would get a few goals at championsjip. Still relatively young. went to Stoke for £500k so think they would look to recoup that atleast. Like mentioned by a couple of people when colace is suspended, or ADS then this guy would be ready made replacement/challenge for start.

He came on as sub against Arsenal

He's made 1 start and 2 sub appearances in the Prem this season.

Dunno if that's enough for him to want to stay or not.

RE: He came on as sub against Arsenal

He has requested a move to get regular football!! If he wants regular, and can't get in a poor premiership team, then he will be looking for high/medium Championship table team...

...but worth a go! these are the type of players that will drive us up the table.
